"Love your neighbour as yourself" Matthew 22: 37-39
Durrington Junior seeks to help every child achieve as highly as they can, including children who are able, gifted or talented. This includes children who are higher attainers (eg Level 3 or higher at Key Stage 1, Level 5 or higher by the end of Key Stage 2) and children who really excel in a particular area, such as music, sport or drama.
Our teaching and curriculum is planned to challenge these learners through stretch and depth, but we also encourage parents of able, gifted and talented learners to explore opportunities outside school as well. Wiltshire Council provides a range of courses for these children at Braeside Education Centre in Devizes - just follow this link to find out more: www.braeside-education.co.uk
You'll need to get a teacher to sign the application form and there's normally a small charge for the course. Children who receive free school meals can get help with the cost of courses - just ask at the school office.
